Hybrid Battery Lease Program: A Commercial Vehicle Strategy to Increase Adoption Rates

Navistar is the leader in the development and production of fuel and emission savings devices for commercial vehicles. The first to introduce hybrid electric vehicles into production in 2006, the company is now developing various products for introduction in the years to come. They include expanding the hybrid electric offerings to more applications, hydraulic series and parallel hybrids, Class 8 heavy truck hybrids and other energy saving projects. The challenges of introducing and gaining high acceptance rates on these technologies and plans to overcome them will be shared. One example of which is the recently announced leasing of batteries in DuraStar hybrids.
