Hyundai-Kia’s Perspectives on Eco-Technology, Byungsoon Min

Hyundai-Kia Motors has been challenging to develop the new efficient eco-technology since introducing the mild type compact hybrid electric vehicle for domestic fleet in 2004 to meet the needs of the increasing automotive-related environmental issues. Also, Hyundai-Kia Motors has been also established the vision for the sustainability with Eco-Technology to make it better the human life. From the vision, Hyundai-Kia Motors pursues the ultimate Eco-Technology. For this, in last year, 2009, the world’s first LPi hybrid electric vehicle with mild function has been launched to the domestic market of Korea with 49% improvement of the fuel economy based on the gasoline equivalent value. At last, in this year, 2010, the first parallel type full hybrid system in the world will be launched to US market with the best fuel efficiency.
